Here are the 3 reasons that may be contributing to your lack of progress from your fitness program.
Your fitness program lacks structure. You approach each workout doing what you feel each day. That may be fine for general health purposes, you’re not going to have optimal results from that type of training program. Too maximize your results, you need to follow a well-structured program that regulates volume, intensity, exercise variety, fatigue and recovery.
Progressive overload. Many people approach their workouts on getting a pump or that tightness factor, quite frankly, it feels damn good. However, the pump is not what matters for results. You need to make sure you are implementing progressive overload, which means using more weight and performing more reps over time. You will not see results doing the same exercises and weight 3×10 every single workout.
Your NOT eating enough. This is the biggest reason. People want to gain muscle, lose fat, but don’t want to gain a single pound of bodyweight. It’s impossible to recomp, lose fat and gain muscle, without the body gaining weight. For optimal results, you have to be OK with purposefully gaining weight for a period of time by eating the right amount of food and fueling for muscle growth and recovery.
